After a few months apart, we’ll be gathering once again August 24th at 8pm. It will be a wonderful time to catch up and share our prayers with one another.

The 334 16th Street, NE community is delighted to be hosting this month’s Community of Communities meeting on Tuesday, April 7th at 7:30 pm.

The closest Metro is Statium Armory, which is a 10-12 minute walk.  We are most accessible by bus.  The D6 comes right to our corner (16th and D).  There is street parking.

The Southeast Community

Hey all, so there was a little miscommunication and actually the February Prayer and Share event will be hosted by the Quebec House community on Feb. 11. “Quebec House?” you ask? It is a lovely community that started last Fall when some former year-long volunteers and others moved in together looking to extend their experience of community. (You may have met David and Janelle when Cornerstone hosted). Come meet them for yourself and see other new and familiar faces. Here are the details:

Who: Everyone is welcome who has even the slightest interest in community.

What: Prayer and Share = Hang out + tell what’s happening with you/community + Pray + Hang out some more

When: Wednesday Feb. 11 at 7:30pm (usually goes to 9 or 9:30 but come when you can and go when you must)

Why: We meet and pray because we need all the help we can get!

The January Prayer and Share will be hosted at the new Casa Chirilagua house (3913 Elbert Ave, Alexandria, VA) at 7pm on Thursday, January 8th. There’s street parking, but it’s at a premium, so carpool if possible. If you would like to metro, one of us will pick you up at the Braddock Road station (call 434-962-4927 for a ride). If you’re planning to metro, shoot me an e-mail and let me know.

We’ve been off our rhythm for the last few months, so it will be good to get back into it.

You don’t have to be living in community to come to the prayer and share—anyone interested in community is welcome. Please spread the word to anyone you think would be interested.

It’s been way too long!!!!

We’ll be having a party the evening of Saturday, December 20th at 6pm  in the Lower Level of Fairlington Presbyterian (3846 King St, Alexandria, VA).  Bring heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks (no alcohol) to share with everyone.

It will be a great way for us to get to hang out together—perhaps they’ll even be some dancing, or a hootenanny, suggestions are welcome.

Everyone is interested in intentional Christian community is welcome, whether or not they’ve been a part of our gatherings before or if they are currently a part of an intentional Christian community.

Everyone is welcome to come and join us for an evening to share what’s going on in our communities and pray for each other. You don’t have to be living in a community to attend.

Directions:
From 295: take the Pennsylvania Ave East exit and after the gas station take a right at the first stop light onto Minnesota Ave. After you pass through the 2nd stop light we’re on the right on that block so you can park wherever – there’s plenty of parking.

From 395: Take 395 through DC and when it splits between 295 and Penn Ave take the Penn Ave exit(left 3 lanes). After you cross the bridge follow directions from above.

From Penn Ave.: Cross the bridge and follow directions from above.

From metro and or bus: The closest metro stops are Potomac Ave and Anacostia. We can do pick ups from a metro just let us know ahead of time so we can plan for that. You can take the 30s bus to L’Enfant Square(which is at the corner of Minnesota and Pennsylvania). The B2 or U2 buses stop in front of our house.

If you metro, it is very easy walking distance (3-5 mins) from the West Hyattsville metro stop on the Green Line.  When you leave the station you will see a Texaco a ways in front of you.  Head toward it, crossing Ager Rd. and keep walking that direction on Jamestown Rd (the road to the right of the Texaco).  Go three blocks and turn left on 31st Ave.  We’re the 4th house on the left.

 

For drivers: It is near Queens Chapel Road (where it turns into Adelphi) and East-West Highway (410).  Looking up the address online will give the best directions.

We will hang out a bit, and take time to hear what is going on in each others’ commmunities – as well as talking about recent events including Jesus for President and PAPA Fest! Then we’ll lift one another up in prayer.

Directions:

We are in the Adams Morgan neighborhood. Coming by Metro is easiest and two stations are about a 10 minute walk away.

Driving – Parking can be a challenge here in the evenings, but if you must drive, from 395 you can get on 14th St. heading north and take it a couple miles (through the whole alphabet) to Columbia Rd. NW and turn left. Turn right on Ontario Rd. which is the next light after you pass 16th St. We’re on the left near the end of the block.

Metro Green line – From Columbia Heights station walk south 1 block to Columbia Road and turn right. Walk about 4 blocks to Ontario Rd and turn right. We’re on the left near the end of the block.

Metro Red Line – From Woodley Park, walk south one block to Calvert street and turn left. Go across the bridge and a couple blocks, then turn left on Columbia road, then left on Ontario Road.
